  • Upcoming Events:
    • Southern Stitches in Thomaston, GA, will present a workshop on making a Spicy Spiral Tablerunner.  Cost will be $25 and will include a ruler and the pattern.  The pattern uses eight fat quarters.  The cost of the workshop should be paid by the August meeting.  There is a sign up sheet.  See Mary Johnson for information or to sign up.
    • June’s Workshop – We will be making the Quilt Bingo cards to be used in playing Bingo.  There will be labels supplied for the top of the cards.  You will need to collect 2.5” squares that will match the categories.  Requirements are FIVE 2 ½ inch squares of the following colors:  assorted orange or yellows; assorted reds; assorted greens; assorted pink and purples; and assorted blues. Bring ONE 2 ½ inch black square for the middle (Home Base).  Bring sewing machine and necessary materials.  If you would like to finish and quilt your bingo card, bring a square of 15 inches of backing and batting.  If desired, bring fabric for binding as well.  Bingo cards can be completed (quilted and bound) at your convenience.
    • Members were also reminded that the guild yard sale will be in October with 25% of the proceeds going to the guild. Yard sale items are to be quilting and sewing related. More to come on that at future meetings.
  • JoAnna Pearson announced that a sit-and-sew will be held from 10 am until 2 pm each Tuesday of June, July and August in her home at 8010 Orchard Hill Drive, Midland GA 31820. All guild members welcome.
  • VERY IMPORTANT:  Quilts are needed for the library.  If you can bring one small quilt or medium quilt, please bring to any meeting for Linda Walker and she will take them to be hung.
  • President’s Challenge will be to make soft dolls or animals as well as a doll-sized quilt to be given to boys and girls from one to six years old.  Quilts should be 24×24.  You may use a pattern of your choice or there will be patterns available for you to use.
  • Alberta Powell won the BOM blocks. Dee Hayes won the name tag drawing; Monica won the tool of the month and Vickie Gillespie won an organizer.
