• Upcoming Events:
  • July Workshop – Christmas Wreath Wall hanging.  Bring three fat quarters (one for wreath, one for backing, and one for ribbon0, 86” of bias tape or binding, one fat quarter for backing.  If you want to add a border, bring 18 more 3 ½” unfinished blocks.  Picture will be posted on Facebook.
  • August Workshop – Southern Stitches in Thomaston, GA, will present a workshop on making a Spicy Spiral Table runner.  Cost will be $25 and will include a ruler and the pattern.  The pattern uses eight fat quarters.  Sign up and pay at the July meeting.
  • June’s Workshop – We made the Quilt Bingo cards to be used in playing Bingo. Please complete and bring to the July Meeting.  If you were unable to attend the June meeting,  there will be labels supplied for the top of the cards.  You will need to collect 2.5” squares that will match the categories.  Requirements are FIVE 2 ½ inch squares of the following colors:  assorted orange or yellows; assorted reds; assorted greens; assorted pink and purples; and assorted blues. You will also need ONE 2 ½ inch black square for the middle (Home Base).
  • Members were also reminded that the guild yard sale will be in October with 25% of the proceeds going to the guild. Yard sale items are to be quilting and sewing related. More to come on that at future meetings.
  • September Workshop – Alberta Powell will be leading the workshop.  You will be using a Color Wheel.  If you would like to purchase one, cost will be $15.
  • JoAnna Pearson announced that a sit-and-sew will be held from 10 am until 2 pm each Tuesday of July and August in her home at (See emailed newsletter for location). All guild members welcome.

• VERY IMPORTANT:  Quilts are needed for the library.  If you can bring one small quilt or medium quilt, please bring to any meeting for Linda Walker and she will take them to be hung. Maximum size can be 6 feet by 7 feet.
• President’s Challenge will be to make soft dolls or animals as well as a doll-sized quilt to be given to boys and girls from one to six years old.  Quilts should be 24×24.  You may use a pattern of your choice or there will be patterns available for you to use.
• There will be no July Blocks of the Month. Keep the BOM from June until the August meeting.
• Charity Quilts: “Teal Magnolias” for women with reproductive cancers. Bring 12 ½ in blocks in teal colors.  Use the May BOM star in teal and off white background. You may bring a block of your choice in teal and off white for a sampler quilt.
• Remember to park up the hill in front of the church if possible. The parking outside the Fellowship Hall needs to be reserved for those of our members with mobility issues.
• There will be a signup sheet in the next few months for those who would like to participate in a Friendship Quilt. Guidelines will be distributed to those who want to participate.
